Project Ouroboros

Designed and constructed over a three-year period by freshman architecture students of David Holloway's Environmental Design class from the University of Michigan. Students where required to build a survival shelter for the weekend using only cardboard and pvc sheeting. The class included sessions on yoga meditation, Tai-Chi, a day of silence, and construction of a group geodesic dome where included.

The house combined a series of sustainable technologies, some ancient, while others modern including wind generation (for electricity), Skandinavian sod roofing which is built to reduce heat loss heat in winter and cool the house in summer, through evapotranspiration, and active solar collection.
